- Male androgenic alopecia : Finasteride (Propecia) and Minoxidil 5%, and Dutasteride (Avodart) under certain conditions.
- Female androgenic alopecia is common : Minoxidil 2% or 5%, and antiandrogens (cyproterone acetate, spironolactone) in case of hyperandrogenism.
- Telogen effluvium : often heals without treatment after 3 to 4 months (after pregnancy, fever, surgery ...).
- Anagen effluvium due to chemotherapy : preventive measures (cooling helmet).
